The story of Wild Heerbrugg and the Leica Group of Companies

Dr. Heinrich Wild was a Swiss businessman, industrial designer and inventor, who founded Wild Heerbrugg, a Swiss optical instruments manufacturing company, in 1921 (later known as Wild Heerbrugg, Wild-Leitz AG, Leica Geosystems, Leica Microsystems, Leica Camera).

In 2021, the Heerbrugg innovation factory in Switzerland celebrated its 100 year anniversary. It’s the home of WILD, Leitz, and Leica Geosystems.
